Fans gathered in their thousands hoping for a glimpse of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman when the BBC began filming their much anticipated third series in our very own Giovanni’s Restaurant back in August 2013.

Giovanni Malacrino, a huge fan of Sherlock since reading the books as a child, was captivated by the BBC reimagining in 2010 saying, “The modern take on this classic was fantastic, I couldn’t wait for the next series to be released. I said to my son while watching it that I’d love to be in a show like Sherlock, working alongside such talented actors.”

So when the BBC approached Giovanni to ask whether they would be able to use his successful Italian restaurant as a filming location, of course he was delighted. None more so than when he was offered a walk on part in the series’ 3rd episode!

Giovanni says, “I’ve always been a firm believer that if you want something enough, it’ll happen. It’s what I teach in my life coaching practices and how I live my life. My appearance in Sherlock just serves to cement my belief in these teachings.”

Giovanni, and the Restaurant are scheduled to appear in the third episode of the show with an estimated audience of 9,000,000 tuning in.

We think that between his TV cameos and his recently released web TV series, The Italianos, you’re going to be seeing a lot more of Giovanni in the near future!

Watch the next episode of Sherlock featuring Giovanni Malacrino and Giovanni’s Restaurant on BBC 1 this Sunday January 12th at 8.30pm.
